Why choose a distance learning programme?

If your child cannot attend school for at least six months, this programme may be of interest to you. There are many reasons for using distance learning:

  • School closure
  • Geographical distance from a school
  • Health problems
  • Professional constraints requiring international mobility
  • The desire for an international education that is not available nearby
  • Children who are top-level sportsmen or artists and are constantly on the move
  • Etc…

This programme is available wherever you are in the world. However, this programme is not open to students living in Geneva.

For more information, please contact us. All requests will be studied individually and an offer will then be made.

Who is this online learning programme for?

  1. 1

Connected education

Video conferencing tool

To deliver its online courses, IIL Online relies on IIL’s know-how and expertise in new technologies and provides all the equipment and support your child needs.

Zoom is the application used for all our videoconferencing lessons

With its simple, modern and ergonomic design, this tool combines online meetings and secure instant messaging. It can be used on a computer as well as on a tablet or a smartphone.

In addition, Zoom offers a wide range of collaborative features:

  • screen sharing for presentations
  • file sharing
  • interactive and collaborative whiteboard to allow brainstorming and structuring ideas from a distance

Participants can also use instant messaging during videoconferences to communicate in parallel with the meeting. In addition, Zoom provides customised backgrounds or virtual sets in which the user’s image is automatically integrated as they move.

Educational tools

A digital workspace

To centralise all aspects of your child’s schooling, the Institute has chosen a Digital Working Environment (ENT). In compliance with the European General Data Protection Regulation (RGPD), you can :

  • keep track of your child’s education
  • communicate with the teaching staff
  • access course materials submitted by teachers
  • access the various applications integrated into the ENT by the Institute
Your role is important

The role of the legal guardians

You are regularly kept informed of your child’s progress and achievements by the teachers. It is essential that you support your child in their education, in particular by making sure that :

  •  they respect their daily schedule
  •  they provide regular work

Depending on the age and the level of autonomy of the student, the necessary time of support may vary.
